Compensation:  $155/day (partial days paid on hourly basis); After 100 days worked in a school year $160/day (partial days paid on hourly basis). $165/day for retired Waukee teachers.

General Responsibilities:

Acting within the substitute handbook, performs duties of the absent classroom teacher. The substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction and managing the learning environment. The position reports to the building principal or designee at the location to which they are assigned. 

Selection Procedure:  If you are selected as a sub, you will be contacted by email.  A criminal background check and a child & adult abuse check are run before an official start.

 

Long Term Substitutes: Many opportunities exist for long term substitutes in Special Education and General Education roles. 6-12 week assignments are not uncommon. Pay is $155/day for the first 15 days and $230.37/day beginning on day 16.
