TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

  • 205 day contract, structure to be set by supervisor and candidate
  • Salary commensurate with teaching experience plus an additional stipend

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Iowa teaching certificate. 
  2. Five (5) years of successful teaching experience.  
  3. Previous experience in designing and delivering professional development.
  4. Active experience in curriculum development, facilitation of professional learning, and demonstrated knowledge of innovative best practices.
  5. Knowledge of best practices and current research in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  6. Proven ability to work with diverse groups, including teachers, administrators, and students.
  7. Demonstrated understanding of key processes in a Professional Learning Community.
  8. Strong organizational skills.
  9. Effective oral & written communication skills.
  10. Advanced computer skills to include, but not limited to, Google Drive. 
  11. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Masters degree or higher in Education Leadership/Administration or Curriculum/Assessment/Teacher Leadership or willingness to obtain.

 

REPORTS TO:  Directors of Teaching & Learning    

 

JOB GOAL: To provide leadership in the development and implementation of the district’s K-12 related arts programming.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitate the development and implementation of related arts curriculum, including standards, benchmarks, and objectives with alignment to instructional practices and formative assessments.
  2. Work with principals and teacher committees to ensure horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional program for Related Arts throughout the district.
  3. Develop budget recommendations and coordinate the purchase of new instructional materials to support K-12 related arts as well as professional development opportunities.
  4. Lead teaching teams in the K-12 Related Arts with professional learning experiences tied to equity & best practice.
  5. Develop and assist in the selection of assessment instruments and methodologies to provide accurate and meaningful data for measuring student performance and program effectiveness.
  6. Support professional learning around assessment and instruction to enhance teacher effectiveness and improve student learning.
  7. Supports staff through job-embedded learning and on-site PLC+ support.
  8. Assists individual teachers and teams with ITPDP and building goals.
  9. Assists with new teacher mentoring and induction process.
  10. Collaborates with instructional coaches to promote consistency and continued shared learning. 
  11. Collaborates with secondary Activity Directors for ongoing support and clarity for programming
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
