Position Criteria:

Performance Criteria:

  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with production staff to include the musical’s Director, Music Director, Pit Director, Technical Director, and Performing Arts Center Manager.
  • Participate in regular production meetings.
  • Assist Director and production staff with the selection of a musical that will best suit the needs and abilities of likely student performers, production team members, and pit musicians.
  • Assist the Director with the creation and communication of rehearsal and production schedules.
  • Assist the Director with the creation of an itemized budget for the production process in collaboration with other production staff.
  • Prepare choreography needed for auditions in collaboration with other production staff.
  • Participate in recruitment and audition advertisement efforts, including leading choreography portions of any related informational meetings or workshops.
  • Conduct auditions and call-backs in collaboration with production staff.
  • Cast the show in collaboration with production staff.
  • Train any applicable student leaders such as Assistant Choreographers, Dance Captains, etc. Training should include an explanation of responsibilities and expectations.
  • Communicate choreography rehearsal progress and notes with stage managers for daily rehearsal report.
  • Create original choreography in collaboration with Director, taking into account limitations of floor plan and other show elements.
  • Lead choreography rehearsals.
  • Attend run-throughs, tech and dress rehearsals, and performances to provide feedback.
  • Lead warm-ups before performances.
  • Following the last performance, strike the show in collaboration with production staff and Performing Arts Center Manager.
  • Assist the Director and production staff with other show-related tasks as needed.
