Position Criteria:
- High school education or equivalent
- 2-3 years experience in high quantity food service management, preferred
- SafeServ and School Nutrition Association Certification preferred or willing to obtain within first year of employment
Performance Criteria:
- Keyholder: Key holder: Opens and unlocks facility, starts all equipment, checks and logs equipment temperatures to ensure food safety. Set up the cafeteria and kitchen for the day. Final close down daily to ensure safety guidelines met.
- Data entry and records including creating and maintaining preparation lists, signage, production records to project for present and future production to limit waste/cost, and email communications/follow up.
- Create delivery schedules for satellite schools, where applicable.
- Oversee preparation for four different hot meals daily and various a la carte items(~$25,000/monthly)
- Monitor serving area to prevent theft
- Ensure food safety including temperature checks, routine equipment maintenance, and proper cleaning/sanitizing.
- Managing inventory, creating orders, and receiving deliveries for a building with enrollment around 900 students.
- Verifying cash deposits at the end of day.
- Day to day supervision, guidance and training for staff of approximately 5. This includes daily feedback and documentation as well as annual performance reviews and input in site hiring decisions.
- Cater to children with special dietary needs (allergies) including keeping specialized inventory, preventing cross contamination, and communicating with parents as needed.
- Log into timeclock plus website to review, verify and approve hours worked and leave time.
- Compliance requirements including monthly supervisor meetings, monthly safety training, USDA posting requirements, as well as preparation for passing state and health inspections.
- Manage child care food service program, where applicable.
- End of year inventory and closing kitchens for summer.
Physical Demands: The Kitchen Production physical job demands require occasional maximum lift of 30 lbs. from knuckle (10") to waist; occasional lift waist to overhead of 15 lbs; Occasional horizontal push/pull of 35 lbs. of force; occasional maximum carry of 30 lbs. for 10 ft; Constant grip strength of 20 pounds; frequent hand coordination; frequent bending, standing, reaching forward; occasional crouching/kneeling or sitting.
