Terms of Employment: 8th/9th grade drama season;
- Position includes two stipends for two shows__one at Prairieview and one at Timberline
Position Criteria:
- Valid Iowa teaching license, preferred
Performance Criteria:
- Determine scenic and floor plan design
- Consider needs and budget limitations and skill/ability of known technical theatre crew
- Design elevations for all necessary scenes
- Prepare technical theatre sign-up sheets
- Prepare order list of building materials needed and telephone shop for best quotes
- Set up technical construction schedule
- Construct set – Choose student leaders to be Student Technical Director and Master Carpenters and stress importance of commitment to total project
- Determine costume plot – Examine limited existing costume inventory for availability and determine what needs to be found or rented in collaboration with the director
- Take necessary measurements of all cast members applicable to determining costume needs for the show
- Reserve space in Dressing Rooms to start assembling needed costumes
- Incorporate parent costume coordinators as early as possible for assistance
- Assemble/sew needed costumes
- Determine properties plot and make acquisition list
- Determine lighting design
- Determine sound needs
- Determine logo design that communicates an essential idea and entices the viewer for program cover in collaboration with the director
- Plan for dismantling of show and return costumes, props, and supplies in collaboration with the director
