Position Criteria:
- Associates degree or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Knowledge of school system structure, policies and procedures required (or ability to quickly acquire).
- Training or experience in secretarial responsibilities preferred.
- Proficient in navigating web-based applications.
- Bilingual preferred
- Experience utilizing communication approaches that show respect for different cultures.
Performance Criteria:
- Perform office routines required for professional office management.
- Greet all visitors courteously, determine their needs, or direct or escort them to their proper destination.
- Work with the public in a variety of situations.
- Assist other SI Administrative Assistants with tasks
- Enroll new students to the district and transfer out as required
- Work with families to determine the appropriate documents necessary for the enrollment process.
- Manage confidential communications with internal and external personnel
- Prepare and review a variety of material (reports, projects, student permit documentation)
- Process all approved open enrollment applications and notify families how to enroll
- Work as a liaison between the schools and family to determine the best start date.
- Assist with student information system data changes (department of education, FTE enrollment changes, parent/student address changes)
- Collaborate with the instructional services and student service teams (Sped, ESOL, ELP, Social Workers)
- Assist with documents related to open enrollment
- Report to the supervisor any developments or problems requiring the supervisor’s awareness or actions.
- Work with other departments and support as needed
- Act as primary receptionist for the District Office
- Assist School Improvement Directors and Associate Superintendents as needed
- Other duties as assigned
